Private White V.C. Mechanic Jacket
Taking clear inspiration from workwear garments from the ‘50s and ‘60s, this Private White V.C. jacket is made from an incredibly soft washed cotton giving it a certain worn-in vintage character. The brand’s signature copper hardware injects an air of contemporary attitude, and the two large zipped chest pockets promise to securely hold loose personal items, whether you’re tinkering with a motorcycle or commuting to work. With its cropped cut it’s designed to sit just above the hips and its elastic inserts at the waist ensure a comfortable fit. It’s a natural partner for jeans and a white T-shirt, yet it will work equally well with a collared shirt and tie, an effortless substitute for a tailored blazer.

Aesop Protective Body Lotion SPF50
When jetting off to warmer climes, the sartorially inclined gentleman might immediately wish to consider his clothing, and the key garments that will make up his holiday attire. Whilst he would be applauded for his quick thinking, the grooming aspect of the travellers’ wardrobe is often overlooked, which more often results in a last minute rush to Boots in departures. Come prepared and invest in this Protective Body Lotion by Aesop, which acts as both an all-over moisturiser and sunscreen. And with its spearmint, lemon and lavender scent, it smells great, too.

Pickett Classic Watch Box
Rather than recklessly place your prized timepiece(s) on the nearest work surface after a hard day’s graft, why not invest in a luxurious grained leather watch box? Handmade in England, this one from Pickett features soft plum-coloured suede lining and a solid nickel lock for piece of mind. If you are lucky enough to be able to fill it, it will surely add a sense of occasion to your morning routine as you feel the lock gently click open and reveal the gleaming metal hidden inside.

Thom Sweeney Slub Wool/Silk/Linen Double Breasted Blazer
Thom Sweeney Slub Wool/Silk/Linen Double Breasted Blazer
Effortlessly suave and sophisticated, this Thom Sweeney double breasted blazer channels part Roger Moore as James Bond, and part moneyed-playboy-on-a-yacht. The wool, silk and linen-blend fabric ensures comfort is paramount, and its contemporary fit means it will effortless pair with a wide array of clothing, from denim jeans and knitwear to cream cabardines and pin-collar shirts.

Dunhill Icon Elite
For summer, Dunhill sought to update its signature Icon fragrance, which has been widely adopted for its well balanced woody scent. Named Icon Elite, they’ve given the weighty bottle a black painted makeover and subtly altered the fragrance with additions of sandalwood, vetiver and sweet cardamom. It's a slightly darker take but one that is true to the old school, masculine elegance associated with the dunhill brand.

Oliver Spencer Japura Oatmeal/Navy T-Shirt
The marinière or breton stripe t-shirt is somewhat of a wardrobe staple. The very first breton shirts were knitted with 21 navy stripes, one for each of Napoleon’s victories and whilst this Oliver Spencer shirt has infinitely more than that, it is clearly inspired by the garment originally designed for the French navy. Made from a fine jersey cotton, this T-shirt is actually comprised of mini dual stripes, which run from the neckline down to the hem. First and foremost a casual garment, it is perfectly suitable to wear with tailoring. Try it with a French blue fresco two-piece, in what would make for an ideal riviera-inspired, summer-ready, rooftop-bar get-up. If there is such a thing.

Scott Fraser Pastel Stripe Loop Collar Shirt
If you’re after authentic mid-century deigns yet updated with modern fits and inspired fabric choices, then look no further than Scott Fraser Collection. A highlight of the current collection, this 1950s-inspired loop collar shirt is constructed from a pastel green and off-white stripe slub fabric, but it’s the details that really elevate it. The buttons are made from solid mother-of-pearl, there’s a loop of fabric attached to the chest pocket (for storing your sunglasses), the arms have split vent cuffs and there’s (another) loop at the rear yoke, which you can imagine ‘50s students using to hang their shirts in their college lockers back in the day. Each piece is made in London, too.
