3Sixteen Ranch Jacket in Shadow Selvedge Denim
Whenever 3sixteen drop a new design it always manages to generate considerable hype. This is largely because their clothing is awesome. Their garments hark back to a romantic image of the wild west, yet they remain thoroughly contemporary, which is achieved through minimising extraneous detailing. One of their latest products is this ranch jacket, which is cut from their fiendishly attractive ‘shadow’ selvedge denim, named as such because the indigo warp and black weft threads develop unique fading through wear (Google it). Inspired by old ranch denim jackets, this one has been slimmed through the body and lengthened, and it’s all the better for it. €299.00, www.vaterundsohn-hamburg.com.

Enlist Suede Blouson Jacket
Despite only having launched in October last year, Enlist has made quite the impression. The SS17 collection is comprised of refined, laid-back clothing with interesting, minimal detailing. Take this suede blouson jacket for example, which is cut with a comfortable, regular fit and features an understated point collar and hidden side pockets, which are carefully stitched in and manage to retain the jacket’s clean lines. £675.00, www.mrporter.com.

ami High Collar Jacket in Navy Cotton-Linen
French brand Ami has a knack for fusing together different styles to create their own. This blouson is part G-1 bomber jacket, part Harrington and part funnel neck and it really works. Made from a cotton-linen blend and with an oversized two-way zip, it’ll pair equally well with denim or more tailored ensembles. It’s lightly padded for added warmth too, so it can be wheeled excitably back out when autumn comes around. £390.00, www.amiparis.com.

Universal Works Military Work Shirt in Royal Blue Cotton
Although technically more of a shirt than a jacket, Universal Works’ military work shirt is made from a heavy duty cotton twill and comes in a boxy cut, making it perfect for layering over a white tee or button down shirt. The designers behind it were inspired by the 0G-107 fatigue shirt, which was standard issue to the US Armed Forced from 1952 until 1989 and retains a concrete position in the military clothing canon. Having simplified the design, Universal Works have used their signature, oversized boiler pockets for maximum utility points whilst giving it a hidden placket, dressing it up ever so slightly. £105.00, www.universalworks.co.uk.

Brunello Cucinelli Field Jacket in Corduroy-Effect Suede
Whilst the field jacket is traditionally a coat for keeping warm in, a number of brands are reimagining them in luxurious lightweight fabrics for spring and summer. Brunello Cucinelli’s take is made from suede yet designed to mimic corduroy, ensuring the once stuffy British countryside fabric’s place within the high luxury sphere. An ideal accompaniment for travel thanks to its smattering of secure pockets, this is a lifetime investment piece, which the price will attest to. £4210.00, www.mrporter.com.
