1981 Lamborghini Countach LP400 S
OK, so this one is a bit more extravagant. By universal standards the Countach is a looker, the Michelle Pfeiffer of the automotive world, if you will. Like Pfeiffer, the Countach had achieved bedroom wall poster status by the early '80s, thanks to its monumental styling by Marcello Gandini, as well as its outstanding V12 pace. This particular car is an LP400 S meaning it got a power upgrade (370bhp), improved brakes and suspension but, more importantly, the option for a mammoth rear wing which became one of the car's signatures. A $5,000 option at the time (1977), it added weight, increased drag and gave no extra downforce, but it looked epic, and that's all that matters. It's on offer at Silverstone Auction's Race Retro Classic Car Sale on 27th February 2016.
Estimated £200,000 - £250,000 at Silverstone Auctions
