1988 Porsche 959 ‘Komfort’
Going under the hammer on Sunday November 27th, RM Auctions are offering a rare chance for you to bid on one of only 329 Porsche 959s ever produced. The quintessential ‘80s supercar and direct rival to Ferrari’s equally iconic F40, the 959 was the most technologically advanced performance car of its day, boasting as RM’s catalogue succinctly puts it, “twin two-stage turbochargers and Bosch electronic fuel injection, all-wheel drive, front and rear independent double-wishbone suspension with electronically adjustable ride height and shock-absorber control, and four-wheel hydraulic ventilated disc brakes”. The 450bhp flat-six engine is good for a maximum speed of 200mph, and as this very example has done less than 29,200 kilometres, there’s plenty more opportunity to test that claim.
€600,000 - €700,000, www.rmsothebys.com.

Aquascutum Jake Overcoat
A particularly versatile garment, this single breasted overcoat is well suited to both your working and weekend wardrobes. Spun from a wool and silk blend, the slubby fabric it's made from lends the coat a soft, textured appearance that will contrast well against a solid navy suit, or even a crew neck jumper and indigo denim jeans.

Herring Windermere Boots
If you’re looking to add a sturdy boot to your arsenal, you could do worse than turn to Herring’s Windermere. Designed to withstand all manner of harsh weather, they’re devised with a commando rubber sole for ultimate grip and a rugged yet supple burgundy grain leather. The boots are also welted using Veldtschoen construction, a method whereby the inner lining is stitched to the welt whilst the outer leather layer is stitched to the midsole over the top of it, making it completely waterproof and thus, perfect for winter.

Grenson Victor Shoes
For a Veldtschoen shoe that’s a little more subtle though, Grenson has produced a pair in Derby form, based on shoes first worn by Afrikaner soldiers in the Boer War. The Victor model features a classic, four-eyelet Derby profile with a plain rounded toe, yet the sole is imposing in its chunkiness, hinting at its all-weather capabilities. Furthermore, Grenson has chosen a black hatch grain leather that replicates the famed Russian Reindeer leather, which was in production during the 17th and 18th centuries and was noted for its durability and softness.

Cartier L’Heure Perdue Parfum
Les Heures de Parfum is Cartier’s signature haute perfume collection, consisting of 13 different fragrances, all of which boast distinctly different scents. Designed for men and women, they’re the creation of in-house ‘nose’ Mathilde Laurent who, as a science major and graduate of the prestigious ISIPCA perfume school, has received plenty of critical praise. This scent, number eleven in the series, is called ‘L’Heure Perdue’ or ‘the lost hour’, and is an example of Laurent’s scientific prowess. It’s entirely and proudly artificial, choosing to explore what’s possible with molecular ingredients including vanillin.
